FAQs:
Q: How accurate is the Navy body fat method?
A: It is usually within a few percentage points of other methods. DEXA scans are more accurate, but the tape method is free and easy to repeat.
Q: Where do I measure my neck, waist and hips?
A: Neck just below the larynx. Waist at the navel for men and the narrowest point for women. Hips at the widest point. Measure on bare skin and take each measurement twice.
Q: What is a healthy body fat percentage?
A: For men, roughly 14% to 24%. For women, roughly 21% to 31%. Athletes are often lower.
